When I was walking around trying to learn my way around the town on 10/3/2010, as well as where different shops are, I noticed what appeared to be two celebrations. The first one that I noticed was these three guys that walked out of this very neat house. They drove this decorated white truck around town giving gifts to the local citizens that they met. The truck also played this chant that sounded like some sort of a parade. I was even offered this dried snack food which I had never seen before. Also, when I was walking back to the university I noticed a precession of children marching with their parents. They marched in a group with people up front carrying this very detailed structure. A child in back was beating a drum every couple of seconds. The parents got the precession to pause for a moment to let me take these neat pictures. One of the parents even took this picture of me standing next to the item the children were carrying. The structure that was being carried was very impressive. The front of it even had a red arch like entrance to the temple which I think made it look very realistic. After that I continued to walk back to the university. I think that getting to see these two events was neat because they were local events from I what I could gather and also I had never seen these kinds of events before.
