I decided that this past weekend was a good one and so I decided to go to Inuyama. The train ride was nice. I got to talk with this nice girl all the way up there, which was interesting. When I got there I decided first to walk in the direction of Inuyama castle. Along the way I saw this food shop, that was pictured in a magazine, that sells this really delicious pastry in addition to other kinds of food. So when I saw it I ordered a piece. I am a glad I did because it was really good. After walking for a little bit I arrived at the entrance to this side street that had a bunch of shops lining the path. At the end of this path, though, was Inuyama castle. The shops had a bunch of various things to buy from very expensive looking handmade pottery and clothes to expensive statues and electronics. At the base to the castle were many shrines and red archway paths that looked really neat. I got to see many people dressed in traditional clothing. I approached this massive starcase and went up it. Once I climbed to the top, I was able to see some magnicient views of Inuyama. Then finally the walk to the entrance was little bit more easy. I thought I had to pay the 500 yen price but because I had this brochure I picked up at the train station, where I arrived, I only had to pay 400 yen which was awesome. The castle itself looks like it is very well maintained. I had to take off my shoes and climb these very steep staircases all the way to the top. The climb was worth it because the view from on top of the castle was amazing. After spending some time here I decided to walk to Momotaro Shrine. The walk there was really long but I got to take some beautiful pictures of the Kiso river as well as talk to some people along the way. When I got to the shrine, I saw a bunch of detailed painted animals and demons. As I walked further I saw the steps to the actual shrine. The shrine looked very well maintained. After seeing the shrine, I walked back and, before I left, I saw some other interesting buildings. After this I got on the train and went back to AUE.
Thank you for posting your story and beautiful photos. You made my day. It brought me right back to my first time visiting Inuyama and the learning the story of Momotaro. The Kiso river is so peaceful and such a contrast from life in Nagoya.
